Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. ~ Luke 15:7
The ninety-and-nine just people are the Scribes and Pharisees who complained at Christ receiving sinners, believing that they were righteous, perfectly righteous, and without sin, so their repentance was not necessary; now there is more joy in heaven for one repentant sinner than for all of them: For this reason, learn that a self-righteous person is an unrepentant one; and that in heaven a repentant sinner is regarded more highly because they are truly saved and born again.
