If you boldly choose to share the true Word of God—the Bible alone (“Sola Scriptura“)—be prepared to face opposition from those who distort His message for their own purposes. This is exactly what Satan did when he twisted Scripture to tempt Jesus in Luke 4:1-13. Throughout the Gospels, we see how Satan influenced religious leaders to resist Jesus and reject His truth.
Shortly after His time of testing, Jesus entered the synagogues to proclaim God’s Word, but the false teachers had already reshaped Scripture to fit their own desires. Instead of receiving the truth, they were filled with rage (Luke 4:28). Nothing has changed today.
As Christians, we are called to stand firm and defend the truth of the Bible. No matter the opposition, we must remain faithful to God’s unchanging Word.
John MacArthur emphasizes the necessity for Christians to uphold the absolute truth of Scripture, asserting that “Scripture is God’s truth, whether it affects anybody or nobody.” In a world where truth is often subjective, MacArthur calls believers to recognize the Bible’s inerrancy and to defend its teachings without compromise. He warns against the dangers of false teachers and encourages unwavering commitment to biblical truth. By standing firm on the authority of Scripture, Christians can effectively navigate and counter the deceptions prevalent in today’s society.

Overview: Luke 1-9 Video
All of this in three chapters is a summation of the evidence to indicate that Jesus and no other is the Savior of the world, the Son of God, the Messiah. There is one other issue, however, in order to validate His Messiahship and that is His ability to conquer the devil and sin. It’s fine to have all of these evidences, all of these proofs, all of these credentials in place. But the ultimate question is: Can He save sinners from sin? Can He save sinners from the destroyer, from death and hell? That’s the compelling question. Can He overturn the curse? Can He get us paradise regained? Can He undo what the destroyer did with the first Adam? Can He conquer Satan? Can He conquer sin and therefore conquer death and conquer hell, not only for Himself but for us? And if He can’t for Himself, then it’s for sure He can’t do it for us. And so the compelling question that is answered in the fourth chapter of Luke is the question: Can Jesus conquer the devil and sin? And there is a ringing yes to that question. ~ John MacArthur

You Need to Know the Bible for Yourself
Everybody needs to know what the Bible really says: what it says about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, salvation and eternity, etc. Don’t depend on what a church or some famous preacher tells you. If you depend on Hollywood, the History Channel, or a magazine for the most important information you will ever need to know. You may end up lost forever not knowing what God has written down for you. He wants you to spend eternity with Him.
You need to know Jesus before you can be saved. The bible is all about who Jesus is and what He has done for you. He has a gift for you and it is completely free. But if you don’t know Him, you will not be in the Kingdom of God with Jesus who gave His very life for you.
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’ ~ Matthew 7:21-23
There is an absurd amount of very bad information out in the world today about the Bible. You will only know the truth if you study the bible for yourself. And if you study the bible and ask The Holy Spirit to open your eyes to the truth He will and it will change your life forever.
